Born from Breath, Built with Heart
What started as a simple idea has grown into a global movement where stories become strength and community becomes care.
Our Story
RespiraMate was born from a deeply personal connection to asthma. Witnessing the isolation many asthma patients feel — the fear of attacks, the stigma of a chronic condition, the financial burden of medication — we created a platform where stories become strength and community becomes care.
What started as a simple idea has grown into a global movement. Today, people from over 15 countries share their experiences here, knowing they are not alone in their struggles.
But we're more than a platform. We're a lifeline. Every story shared funds inhalers for patients who can't afford them. Every connection made breaks the silence around asthma. Every breath shared is a breath of hope.
Why This Matters
Globally, 460,000 people die from asthma each year. Many deaths are preventable with proper medication and education. In Kenya and across Africa, a significant portion of asthma patients lack access to affordable inhalers — not because the medication doesn't exist, but because they simply can't afford it.
A Three-Pillar Approach
- ✓Community: A safe space for patients to share and connect
- ✓Education: Resources to understand and manage asthma
- ✓Action: Direct funding for inhalers and medical supplies
